the ARC |
The Academic Resource Center (ARC), located on the first floor of the Library, provides several different types of academic assistance, including academic advising for mostly freshmen, writing and math tutoring, and study skills. There is also a small computer lab, and a job/career information center. Several times, during the semester, the ARC holds short Seminars to assist students who feel they may need additional assistance with study skills, i.e. time management, procrastination, text book reading, how to deal with test anxiety, etc. The services provided by the ARC are free, and usually do not require an appointment. Advising - Writing Assistance – Wesleyan professors, and Student Writing Interns, volunteer their time and expertise in the ARC to assist students in all types of writing assignments. Check their schedules. A PhD tutor – WOW! Math
Tutoring
– Several well-qualified Wesleyan math students are available to
assist with most types of math-related problems. Check their schedule. Academic Study Skills & Seminars - Great suggestions to improve academic study skills, such as time management, test taking, how to deal with test anxiety, etc., are available on these ARC links, and in seminars presented by the ARC staff. Career and Job Information - Ms. Sherri Mata is the new director of Career Services. Students seeking information concerning off-campus job information, and other career-related information are invited to visit her in the ARC office complex. Computer Lab – 14 computers are available in the ARC, and are available for writing papers, research, surfing the web, web CT courses, email, etc. Check below to see the hours they are available. ARC
