Where do I begin?

  1. Assessment test - contact Career services to obtain logon and password information so you can take the online version of the Strong Interests Inventory, College Edition.
  2. Schedule an appointment with Career Services for interpretation of your assessment results.
  3. Obtain copies of "What Can I Do With a Major In. . .?" from Career Services or go to College Majors Handbook.
  4. Research salaries, occupation outlook, and job descriptions on the links provided below.
  5. Obtain career counseling in the campus career center located in the ARC or call 817.531.6552 to schedule an appointment

 

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook  provides a description of the work, education requirements, salary potential, and job prospects for the future.
  • College Majors Handbook provided by George Mason University
  • O'NET Online - The O*NET database includes information on skills, abilities, knowledge,work activities, and interests associated with occupations. Information in the O*NET is available for over 950 occupations. Type in the occupation you want to explore and this site will.
  • Career Profile Search career development and job search advice for college students and recent graduates that is maintained by Career Planit and the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
