| Work Experience: | Taco Casa (June 2000-August 2000, June 2001-August 2001) I worked as a cashier and cook. I also worked on the line making the food. This was my first real job, and I learned a strong work ethic as well as punctuality and efficiency. Accent Stones (June 2001) I worked making concrete splashboxes. This job was mainly as a favor, but I worked hard for the couple of weeks I was there. I got an inside look at a small business and how it was run. City of Saginaw Public Works (June 2002-August 2002) I worked as a member of a crew that kept the parks maintained. My jobs incuded mowing, weed-eating, weeding, watering, leveling, driving trucks, digging, and any other jobs as assigned to me. This job taught me the value of an education, as well as the value of physical labor. I also learned to bond well with the people I worked with to get jobs done more quikly and more efficiently. Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America (June 2003-present) I am currenty working at the Texas Longhorn Breeders. My various jobs include registering and transferring animals, answering phones, research, inputting brands into computers, mailing merchandise, creating sale catalogues, setting up for sales, training new employees, proof-reading the Trails magazine, typing show results, and other jobs as assigned. Most of my job is data entry, either text or images, and I have gotten much more experience working with computers. CTCYM Summer Mission Trips (June 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004) Each summer, I volunteer to attend the Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission trips to various locations in the US. For 1 week, we work doing minor repair and remodeling on homes for people that were less fortunate. Besides gaining experience in many tasks like roofing, painting, and minor carpentry, I bonded with each work group I was in, and also with our clients. These trips gave me the opportunity to travel around this country and meet people from all over. |
